Christmas in the Dining Room

Here we are, once again, for another Christmas post but this time in the Dining Room.

I have always liked the looks of garland hanging from the ceiling down to the chandelier so this year I found the perfect faux garland at Michael's to use for this. I used four of them.

I found the silver glass beaded tassels at Michael's also, to hang on each end. Although there were only 3 left, and I needed four!

I had a luncheon yesterday and this is how I set the table. Pretty simple really.

I brought out the cranberry goblets and used my Pfaltzgraff Winter Berry pattern. We had quiche, bread and salad. Sorry no photo of that. :(

For a little something sweet I made some peanut butter fudge and petit fours. Also served Godiva Chocolate Truffles.  Using Friendly Village dessert plates.

I dressed up the windows with more of the same garland.

Using a pair of paper mache cherubs and faux frosted fruit sprays.

Used more of the same fruit sprays on the stepback cupboard, showcasing a hand painted cider pitcher that a friend gifted me.

And on around the room, over in the corner, on the teacart...

is my latest auction find! A silver plated punch bowl with matching cups. I spent two hours polishing that thing! But I love it!

And with these antique mercury glass garlands that I found at an estate sale over the Summer...

I graced this white feather tree with their elegance and sweetness.

The feather tree is also an estate sale find, and is actually real goose feathers, not faux.

Hung this Victorian inspired piece on the china cabinet...

Dressed up the "3 faces" compote with some glass ball ornaments.
The Christmas plate above is handpainted of an English Robin and nest in some mistletoe and holly.

And lastly, are some pomander oranges that I made. A first for me!

Thanks so much for visiting and I'll be back soon with another Christmas luncheon post, a blogger friend luncheon! Bernideen and Janice!

  2. Oh your dining room is divine. Our house is so small, we 'dine' in the kitchen. And the punchbowl---is awesome, and yes, I would polish it, and love it every minute. Lovely post, Merry Christmas! Sandi
