A closer look at those peach roses and blue forget-me-nots. I like the rosebuds on the lids...
they match the rosebuds on the back side of the teapot and creamer...
Let's not forget the strawberries and chocolates! For this vignette I'm showing a calling card with strawberries and Lily of the Valley on it and for the chocolates I'm showing 3 trade cards with Candy Co./Stores advertised on them.
I like the "Daggell's Chocolates" card with the beautiful butterfly on it. To the right of the card can you see the embroidered butterfly on the handkerchief? I like how it matches the butterfly on the card.
The calling card reads "A Token of Love".
As I was searching my albums for the above cards I came across a few pretty rose cards I wanted to show for this Garden Party. See the embroidered cut out rose on the napkin, I just got that from Janice's garage sale this past weekend. Her blog is called Curtains in my Tree.
Because my roses were looking so pretty...
I decided to cut one and use it in a few Rose card vignettes. Below is another calling card with silk fringe around it.
The card below is a postcard in which the top half opens up to reveal a sweet note for a Sweetheart. I have used my battenburg lace parasol for the backdrop.
Bluebells...
Pink Bleeding Hearts...
and White Bleeding Hearts...
Going around back, this is what's blooming now, my purple Clematis...
my orange Poker Plant, with the beautiful Kathryn Rose in the background...
my Sedum plant, with the netting to keep the deer from eating it...
and my beloved Hollyhocks. This is the first year for them to bloom here, in front of the kitchen window. For the past several years as soon as they would bloom, the leaves would get ugly spots on them and then they would all fall off! Every time! So I am just thrilled they are still looking beautiful! Knock on wood!
And then, finally, over at the fence is my Iris garden. My mother calls these Old Fashioned Iris and they have been passed down, through the years, from my Great Grandmother's Iris plant.
Well that is it for my Garden Tea Party, I do hope you enjoyed yourself.

ReplyDeleteGina, have I missed something??? I didn't know you could decorate cakes. What a beauty and the matching flowers to your tea set is just beautiful. Your photos are so bright and gorgeous. You changed your background, didn't you and the colors really show up on the lighter background. My hollyhocks do the same thing that yours did, for the past two years. I thought they were going to be better this year, but unfortunately, not. What did you do different this year?..Happy Weekend..Judy
