A New Bunny and other Easter Decorations

At one of our sales this past week I bought some new Easter decorations. And just in time for Easter. Since St. Pat's was just this past Thursday I didn't start decorating for Easter until last night (Saturday eve). I try not to show the exact same decorations from year to year so as not to bore you too much. :)

I was very excited when I dug this guy out of the box at the sale and immediately put him in my "want" pile. Isn't he wonderful?

He is actually quite large for a decoration. To show you just how large, look at this photo of my Lacey, who weighs 7 1/2 pounds, next to him.

Instead of making him the centerpiece for my dining room table, I decided to put him right here on the pier table, below the tulip oil painting and to the left of the bell pull,

(a close up of the Easter card shown above)

where he can keep a close eye on the handpainted real eggs.

Over here on the parlor table I did a little staging with another bunny, a smaller one, that I got from the same sale.

Here is a photo without the flash so you could see more of what the bunny really looks like

and with the flash so you could see the fenced area better. The flash did weird things to the bunny!

A close up of the rabbit family in the ceramic egg.

Over on the Library table I did a little staging using a milk glass plate I bought at a sale this past Fall. The little flocked chick I got at this last sale as well. The milk glass egg I had already. As you may know, I have several of these eggs.

I have a few in the basket in the background...

and a basket full of them on the dining room table.

In the foyer, on the hall stand, I have a basket of bright colored marble eggs. Along with my newest lamp addition, from one of our sales.

And a set of three hand embroidered pastel towels, from this past week's sale, to compliment the marble eggs.

Well that is it for this year's Easter decorating, but let us not forget that Easter is not all about the bunnies, the chicks, the eggs - all symbols of new life. It is about the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, the resurrection of Jesus and the new life that we can all have in Christ Jesus, when we accept him as our Lord and Savior. To God be the Glory!

Wishing you and yours a blessed Easter!

  32. I love the white bunny...and the pier table! Richard in MO introduced me to the white Victorian eggs. It is really fun to have a decorating theme going on all year. I've put my 200 year old house up for sale...looking for one to save and restore. Weather here is sunny and in the 60's/70's so no complaints. Marshel in Alabama
