Happy February everyone!
Okay ladies, if you want to have a romantic Old Fashioned Valentine's Day
then you might want some pretty teacups and lace and linens
with a monogrammed S for Sweetheart.
And for your Sweetheart you might need some chocolate
But before you get the chocolate
you need a Sweetheart to give the chocolate to,
so who is behind the doors of the frame?
Your Sweetheart of course!
If you're not happy with this Sweetheart
you might prefer one of these Sweethearts
or maybe one of these Sweethearts,
they were special enough to have their faces on a pin.
And once you've chosen your Sweetheart,
you'll want to make a Valentine for him
or if you're not feeling very creative,
you might want to buy your Sweetheart a postcard instead.
You may want to have a vase or two on hand
just in case your Sweetheart brings you flowers
and you may want to have your cranberry glass cordials ready too
and when the evening is over, you'll want to see him to the door
and thank him for such a lovely time
but whatever you do,
just don't let him know you were wishing
you had picked the other Sweetheart!
Just say goodnight, close the door behind him and turn out the lamp.
May your slumber be filled with SWEET DREAMS!

ReplyDeleteI want a SWEETHEART !
ReplyDeleteyour velvet frame is wonderful and I have never seen another one like it,where it opens up.
I'll be on the outlook for another one for you or maybe for me
you have such sweet items in your beautiful victorian home Gina
Dear Gina:
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute posting! I simply adore all those old photos. What great fun. I love that lamp too. The pins are amazing. My hubby has one with men in all old top hats! Gina, I was wrong about saying we had 12" of snow. Our neighbor told us last night we got 20" of snow! We could hardly get our car in the garage.
Oh oh oh! I absolutely adore this post. I am kind of a nut about brown. My friend says I live in Brownsville. Pink and brown are just lovely and soft and so perfect for your style. That frame is to die for! Well done Gina! 💝
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I enjoyed it a lot and chuckled at the end.
ReplyDeleteDianne
So many pretties not sure what I love the most! Are the pictures family pictures? Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, only the two men in the walnut frame are my relatives. My maternal great grandfather and his brother.
DeleteOh Gina, what a sweet post. I love your pretty tea cups but I enjoyed the vintage cards and photos the most. All the handsome sweethearts were easy on the eyes. Such elegance and grace in those days.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike... Ha Ha Wishing you and your sweetheart a happy Valentine's Day.
Janet
Gina, your post is really cute and very entertaining! So many fun things to look at. Thank you for the smile and have a wonderful Valentines Day with your sweetie!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Dear Gina:
ReplyDeleteNow that was a very clever and makes us smile. I loved all the props for this little "story" too! That brown photo album is amazing. If it could only talk!!! Thanks for sharing.
Cute post. Fun story!
ReplyDeleteSweet post! I love the cranberry glasses.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and nice comment.
Carolyn
Thank you for this nostalgic Valentine post. The twist at the end made my smile. Ah, the fickle heart! Happy Valentine Week, Gina!
ReplyDeleteHi Gina,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a dear post. The gents look a little old for me. Lol. Who can part with these photos? Do you know these fellows? I have seen vintage photographs like these for sale in antique stores and wonder why their families parted with the pics. Such pretty teacups and vintage cards. Happy Valentine's Day Dear Gina! Karen
Hi Gina. Always love to see your beautiful collections. That little dish with the chocolates is similar to one I have, except the flowers are orange and it doesn't have any chocolates! Love the Bank of Cupid! Thank you for visiting me and leaving such kind words. Usually the comments come on my e-mail but this time it just showed up on the blog. Do you think it has something to do with all the problems that different ones have complained about with Google?..Happy Valentines to you and your hubby..Judy
ReplyDeleteLots of pretty valentine treasures!! Love seeing all your pretty things
ReplyDeleteDear Gina:
ReplyDeleteI am answering your question here. A "high" table is just like your regular dining room table rather than a coffee table!
Gina, thank you for visiting and leaving the kind words. I am drooling over the lace linens under your cranberry cordials. Lovely Valentine post. Hoping your Sweetheart has something to fill your vases! Debra
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, Gina; too cute! Yes, let's hope that we don't wish we had picked the other sweetheart. This is the first time in years that I didn't do a pink and brown Valentine vignette. I have a few things that are fun to play with, but wanted a change. Love your linens and the cordial glasses! Happy Valentines and thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
oops, it's like buyers remorse with the sweetheart if the first one chosen doesn't work out! I really enjoyed your cute post...it made me smile. And those postcards...Bank of Love unlimited. Hee!

I was a bit surprised to read "brown and pink" together for Valentine's Day, but you definitely changed my mind. I have some lovely dark brown truffles wrapped in pink paper that are calling to me right now.
ReplyDeleteHope your Valentine's Day is lovely.
Thanks for Sharing Your Cup!
Your Valentine vignettes are all so heavenly. I've always loved brown and pink together but you proved how really lovely it can be. Thank you for sharing at Vintage Charm and I hope to see you back this week. sb
