A Chandelier and a New Pup

Hello everyone, I have been so busy working the estate sales, sending my son off to college and my daughter back to school, got a new pooch (which I will show you at the end of this post) that it has been hard to blog these days. So here is a quick one, I say that but you know me! :)

I have always wanted a chandelier to hang over the dining room table, I thought it would make the room a bit more Victorian looking and not so boring.

Well a couple of weeks ago I bought one at one of our sales. It stayed on this table for a while as I had to repair a break and clean it up a bit

bought a ceiling medallion at Menard's

and painted it

to coordinate with the one I painted for the Parlor/Living Room several years ago

Got hubby right on it

and there she hangs!

( I will need to find a fabric piece to hide the chain, any suggestions anyone?)

Dripping with crystals

and added lusters

she is a beauty!
And oh my, what a BRIGHT beauty she is! Wow!
Hubby says it makes him hot so I will have to change the bulbs to lower wattage bulbs.

So that is that, now for the new pup! Meet Lacey. She is 10 months old and we got her at our local Humane Society 2 weeks ago. We named her Lacey because of the little patch of white right above her front legs. She is an Affenpinscher, in German translates to Monkey Terrier, and the French called these breeds "diablotin moustachu" which translates to mustached little devil. Poor little thing, to have a name such as that!

After being spayed and a little unsure of her new home, this is where she finally fell asleep

on MY side of the bed!  :)

After some persuading, my daughter is finally letting her sleep with her every night!
Thank goodness!

Although she is totally adorable and is quite the lovey dovey

and so curious, in a such a cute way,

she has some major separation anxiety issues and can't be away from us for even a minute, well she has actually improved a little over the week.
She has adjusted to her new home quite well but is quite the stinker when it comes to her kennel, she has chewed up a fourth of her plastic tray in just a few days!

Well that is it for now, time to climb into bed and get ready for a new day.
Thank you so much for visiting and have a great week!

The doggie is quite adorable, too. I'm really not a dog person but he is the cutest.

I have been so very busy with a myriad of activities, including writing around four blog postings at one! Yes, I am good for the month of September and even into October!!
Anyhow, I have to find a way to see your beautiful house in person - - my Lord, it simply looks beautiful! I only have one room dedicated to the past...but you have an entire house.
    And now this chandelier!!
Have you ever thought of doing a video tour? That would be fun!

  16. Oh Gina,
I love, love, love your new chandelier! It's gorgeous! I am so impressed with your painting of the medallion. I have never thought of painting them before. Yours is so effective. Hubby is a keeper too! I gold my silk covers for my chandelier chains at Pottery Barn. They were $25. I love the look with the cover on the chain - shabby chic. Have a wonderful week. Karen

  20. What a GORGEOUS chandy! Really like it and the medallion looks fantastic. I love how you took the time to decorate it. I covered one of my chandy chains with a piece of pink (or mauve) silk... or faux silk. The kind that has the wavy lines when it hits the light? I am having a "senior" moment and can't remember the name of it! LOL. And I'm not even a senior yet. :)
