Before showing you the dining room table I wanted to share this vignette of my antique hand painted Christmas plate I got at one of the sales I worked at several weeks ago.
We'll start at my son's end of the table...
where a parakeet napkin ring graces his plate and a salt cellar sets off to the side with its own little monogrammed spoon inside. Each place setting has their own napkin ring (which really were not used at formal dinners at that time, they were only used for everyday use), salt cellar and spoon and butter pat. The place setting is Pfaltzgraff Winter Berry pattern.
When looking up from his place setting you see this view...
and moving around to the right of the table is the butter dish...
my place setting and the centerpiece brides bowl upon a plateau mirror almost hidden by the ivy and holly.
A closer look at the enameled brides bowl and the gold enameled cranberry glass cruet bottle on the plateau mirror.
and then there is this zipper glass pickle castor and zipper glass celery vase...
moving on around past hubby's place setting is this water pitcher. I got it a couple of months ago from Richard at My Old Historic Home. That is the link that shows his booths at an antique mall near his home.
Below is a candle lit view with the gilt china cabinet in the background
and my daughter's place setting...
and then we are back around to where we started from, back to the banana pedestal bowl with wax fruit.
Now, let's fast forward to dessert and I'll show you my Buche de Noel cake...
And now for my miniature followers here is Christmas in the dolls house. Enjoy!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

ReplyDeleteGreetings sweet Gina!
ReplyDeleteYour dining room is so elegant... what a fabulous table you set! Your antique silver pieces are beautiful. Winter Berry is my favorite Christmas dinnerware design and looks so great on your table. And of course my favorite part, your dollhouse miniatures all decked out for a good old fashioned Christmas!!
Hope you have the best New Year ever Gina!! Blessings, Marie Antoinette and Edie Marie
Your table is gorgeous, Gina. You must have so much fun decorating for Christmas in your home. You do such a smashing job! I love the miniatures. So sweet. Thanks for sharing at Every Room In The House. Happy New Year! ~ Nancy
ReplyDeleteGine, you have such beautiful things. They always take my breath away. That bride's bowl is outstanding and looks like the dolls had a fantastic Christmas..Hope your new year will be a good one..Judy
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so festive and elegant. So glad you showed us some close ups of your wonderful table settings. I spot salt cellars while I am out on treasure hunts and if they are not too expensive I will purchase, but never have seen any like the ones you have, very fine.
ReplyDeleteMy father in law always liked celery in a glass of water at Christmas and every dinner really. I thought it was neat to see you had the same thing.
Those miniatures like I said before, I love to gaze at over and over.
Besides salt cellars, what did people do with the pepper? I've never read nor do I see ever anything about that. Hmmmm.
You have a wonderful New Year and thank you for visiting and leaving a sweet comment.

I was happy to see your miniature house with all the pretty little collections inside. Something I may want to do someday. I have a lot of miniature pieces stored right now; that my grand-father made for me and other pieces I have collected over time.
