Easter and Miniature Happenings

Hello everyone,
I have been having so much fun with my dollhouse that I haven't been doing much blogging, or Easter decorating! So I finally did a little decorating on the dining room table

and some decorating in the dollhouse kitchen and dining room.  The eggs are being dyed in the kitchen and notice the little bird nests on the plate, they are suppose to be fancy cookies and there's even a chocolate bunny next to that, and a bundle of carrots on the table for the Easter Bunny.

The dining room table is set with the Easter ham. Notice the Jesus picture hanging on the wall.

I decided to add a quilts to a few of my beds so I found in one of my Victorian Homes magazines a feature on Victorian quilts, so I enlarged the quilt images and glued them to fabric backing and put them on the beds. I cut up a hanky to make the sheet and pillowcase on the bed below...

and in the Old Curiosity Shop I added a quilt to that bed and made that pillow case and I made the quilt rack and hung a quilt there too. See, I told you I got a little excited about this quilt making business! Don't you just love the peacock perched up on the shelf? I do, I found that guy at Michael's and was quite excited about it.
It's supposed to represent a taxidermy one.

So now you know what I've been up to lately and why I haven't been blogging or decorating for Easter until now.
Thank you so much for visiting and may you have a joyous Easter. Praise God for that empty tomb and for His promises of eternal life.

I am joining the following parties...

  1. Oh GINA! OMG. You are doing a fabulous job on the magnificent dollhouse. Oh my goodness! The details! The talent you have! Oh, breathtaking. Loved each and every room. The quilts are fabulous. And the little daffodils! WOWSERS.

Gina, what do you use for the rods to put the curtains on? I LOVED your curtains. Oh, out of handkerchiefs! Amazing.

And your velvet curtains in the living room are gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Did you just make your own patterns? You are so lucky you can sew!

Oh gosh. That was an Easter treat! Gina, what miniature shop is near you?

Take care and have a blessed Easter. Thanks for the tour! Susan

  2. Your Easter decorations are lovely. On a recent antiquing expedition with my husband, I saw just an iron sofa like yours. It was rather expensive for just the one piece. I can't remember the exact price but it was around $70, I think. You may not want to repaint yours.

  17. Gina,
I have to ask you what type of lighting did you use and how did you get it to stay on the ceiling? Tape? What type of tape?
I started a Series called Spot light On on my blog and did my first post shining the Spotlight on Kim from Victorian Parlor. The next one I thought could be on Doll Houses and i would love to feature a few bloggers with doll houses including you. would you be interested?

    Hugs,
    Deb

  18. So many truly fantastic pieces in all these pictures that I don't even know where to start! The treasure chest is a lot fun and add such a whimsical touch to a very serious scene. I love the lamp too and would want one in real-life size. :)
