Miniature Project Reveal!

Hello and Happy New Year! I want to thank each one of you for reading my blog this past year and for leaving such nice comments. Even though I will probably never meet many of you face to face, I still consider each of you my friend. Thank you for that. May your New Year be a blessed one!

A while back I showed you all this photo of a miniature project that I would be working on...

A few of you made guesses of a general store, and that was pretty close. Here is the box after I wallpapered it and put in the hardwood flooring and added my shelving unit.

And here we go, the moment you've all been waiting for!! Drum roll please! *winks*

It is an "Olde Curiosity Shoppe"! Since I have so many minis that won't fit or go in my dollhouse, I decided this was the way to go. And I can even trade out stuff if I want to. How fun is that?!
Sorry the photos are a little dark. Here are some close ups of all the cuteness!
Notice the teeny tiny grey mouse on the front corner of the trunk, he's reading a teeny tiny newspaper!

The teeny antique porcelain doll is my very favorite!! The rocking chair and stool was a kit that I glued together, painted and added the decal.

Don't you just love the pretty shoppe keeper?

The little chair and white birdcage came from Hobby Lobby, in the Spring section. They have a whole row of fairy and gnome garden stuff! And  a lot of it works for this kind of thing.
Notice the cute little pelican below the gumball machine.

And the little basset hound peeking out from under the lady's dress. The cash register even has money in it, sorry I didn't have the drawer open so you could see it. On this corner of the counter is a little basket that I glued assorted tiny shells in and next to it is a little gold  case with a string of pearls in it and behind it is a Sailor's Valentine.

As you can see from the photos, I still have some shelf space for more stuff but my floor space is about all used up. I'm always adding stuff. I have been off for the past two weeks so you can guess where I've been. Searching flea markets and antique malls! I have two more identical boxes and have decided to stack them on this one for a three story shoppe. I have more furniture with no place to go, so it will go in there and maybe even have seasonal minis in there as well since I have so much of it.

Below is another project that I did recently. I got the little books at Michael's on clearance. I like the Victorian images on them.

I added all the stuff to make it look 3-D. I made the little candles for the tree, added the candy canes, gold beading and the toys on the one side, on the other side I added more beading, made the little white petaled flower, added the berries, leaves, pinecone and bow to match the picture that was behind it. And then I added the little house ornament.
My plan is to do something with the other two books as well.

Well that is it for my projects, I hope you enjoyed seeing them and I hope I didn't bore you too much.

I want to close by showing you a few icy weather photos and the Yule Log cake that my daughter and I made for Christmas day. I was a little lazy and didn't add any icing holly leaves or any color to it like I usually do.

Oh and I almost forgot little Livy dog in her New Year's Eve dress! Isn't she sweet? She wants to wish everyone a Happy New Year too!

  11. A curiosity shop, how neat. The little wrapped packages and that rug on the floor. all of it is so sweet! Took some time to put all of the teeny little pieces in there for sure. The books you decorated from Michaels are such a neat idea and you decorated them so sweet, you have been busy doing some fun and very pretty projects.
I like also the picture of the birdbath frozen over with the cherub. Looks like a good Christmas card that one would make. Livy is so adorable in her cute little dress.
Thank you for visiting and leaving a sweet comment on my Christmas blog.
Happy New Year to you and your family

    OMG!!
I LOVE your Mini Shop!!! So incredibly cute!! You really did a fantastic job on it!!
And all that ice!! Yikes! Every time it snows here, it rains and gets warmer and the snow is gone only to get more snow in a day or so. Strange weather!!

    Thanks for your visit!!

  14. Happy New Year Gina! My little doxies, Gur & Zoe, send a "woof woof" to little Livy too! (I think that means they like her sweet dress) LOL

Your shop it incredible!! I love everything in it and how you've placed it. You have a wonderful imagination of what the story is that's going on in the shop. That makes it come to life for me. The basset peeking out from under her dress, the tiny mouse on the corner of the chest, the parcels waiting for the postman, the stained glass window for sale, the Hitchcock rocker... it all tells a story of long long ago. And then there's your 3d books, very sweet. Love what you've done with them! You are so creative Gina! Thank you for sharing your gift of miniatures with all of us. Miniatures are one of my favorite things.

    Blessings, Edie Marie
