Welcome to my "just a little bit" Fall decorated house. For some reason I just don't decorate a lot for Fall but I sure am loving all the Fall decorating posts I'm seeing out there. Way to go ladies! You are all so inspiring!
We'll start out at my house and then I'll take you to see the Historic homes of Boonville, Missouri.
Pictured below is a silver plated antique brides basket filled with Red Delicious apples and an amber art glass mug filled with apple cider. I got it for a dollar at a local antiques mall and I thought it was so pretty with the enamel work decorating it. It seems to have a little Fall flair to it.
Inside I have a little tablescape going on in the dining room and THAT is as decorated as it gets for now. I'll be taking it down next week and getting out the Halloween for a while and then Fall goes back up again.
For the centerpiece I used a pumpkin tea lite holder and placed it on a cake stand for some added height
and used two glitzy crows for a little bit of bling. One on this side with the yummy candy corn...
and the other one over here. This is my favorite side. I had a little fun with some minis. I got 3 mini hay bales and this red lantern you see at a garage sale last weekend. So I added my little scarecrow plant pick and a few candy pumpkins and am good to go.
And now, I want to show you some beautiful Victorian homes in a small town here in Missouri. Several of my pieces of Victorian furniture came from auctions here in this town. My dream is to live in this wonderful little town. Sigh...
I took these photos late last Fall with the intent of showing them here on my blog. One year later, here they are. This is just an outside "drive by" homes tour, no inside views at this time.
Look at this one (below), the paint colors just scream out Autumn, don't they?
The next two photos were taken around Christmas time.
Below is the DAR home. They open up for tours every Christmas. It is absolutely gorgeous inside! If you are interested in reading more about it click here. It was built in 1895.
And the house below is just across the river, and has even been flooded a few times. It is a Bed and Breakfast and is supposed to be haunted by the owner who was a steamboat captain, or something like that. It was built in 1869. If you are interested in reading more about it please click here.
Back at home Livy dog wants to say thanks for coming along on the tour and have a great week!

I like your fall decor on the front of your house and the dining room table. Those little candy pumpkins are a great idea although I don't know how long they'd last in my house. :) There certainly are some gorgeous homes in your town! I love the little yellow cottage. I'm visiting from Sandi's HOME meme. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Gina,
ReplyDeleteAll of those historic homes are marvelous but I have to say that I love that little yellow home best. Thanks for sharing this at my HOME and have a nice weekend.
Blessings,
Sandi
Thanks for sharing the beautiful homes with us! I really enjoyed the tour!
ReplyDeleteOh Gina,
ReplyDeleteI love your fall centerpiece. You are so creative. I just adore your furnishings too. The chair that your wee doggie is on is gorgeous. Those homes are so very spectacular. Thanks for sharing and also thank you for visiting me and leaving such kind words. Have a wonderful weekend. Take care,
Karen
What a great tour and thank you! I love old homes...they just speak to me with all their details and how they use every little bit of space. I have been fortunate and have lived and owned a couple. They are a lot of work, but so rewarding! We are now downsized into a too small bungalow that is turn of the century...I like the big houses best...Livvy is a darling doggie and I love the chair she is perched on!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
♥ JIl
What gorgeous homes! I thought I'd picked one, but each one got better than the last. Such a wonderful tour. Did you peek in the windows? I'd be itching to get inside! Love your fall centerpiece, too.

Patti
Thank you for the virtual tour and loved the sweet Yorkie at the end ~

GINA!!!! Fantastic!! Your home is decorated so lovely!! And that town is fantastic. What a great town it would be to live in. It reminds me of a town in NJ that only allows new construction to be built in the Victorian fashion. Almost all the homes are big Victorian beauties. They have a Victorian festival there every year the weekend after Labor Day. I did attend it several years ago but it seems to always fall on my weekend to work now. The town is Belvidere, NJ
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words!!
Hugs,
Debbie

ReplyDeleteHi Gina,

Hi Gina,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Christmas Pudding blog. The answer to your question is yes, Canada does celebrate Halloween on Oct. 31. Hope you're having a lovely week.

ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece is lovely and I enjoyed the tour of majestic old homes :) I have been here before...I remember drooling over an earlier post of your beds ( large and small : )
ReplyDeleteOlder homes have so much character to them and yours is wonderful!! :)
I love these homes Gina! Great post!
ReplyDeleteHello Gina,
ReplyDeleteI'm on a train to Montreal to visit my mother and have several hours to indulge in reading what my blogging friends have been up to lately. Thank you for taking us on a trip to the zoo with your beautiful family. The ride around this little town was delightful, what a gorgeous collection of old homes. I'm totally envious of your 'sky high' headboards, they make such an impact in a bedroom. You absolutely kill me with your miniatures.

Hi Gina!! I'm so glad you stopped by to visit my blog. It's great to have found you! I'm sure you will own one of those gorgeous Victorian homes someday soon! I'm going to start following you as well!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Christine
How fun to be decorating with Victorian styles! I too, am not a big fall/Halloween decorator but try to put it out as best I can. :)
ReplyDeleteThose homes were lovely! I used to live on the East coast in Missouri but I do not remember Boonville but maybe I just forgot...or it is on the wrong end of the state. Thanks so much for stopping by my "old book" post and leaving a nice comment. Much appreciated!
Uh, maybe I should have written on the "eastern side" of Missouri. Tee hee.
ReplyDeleteThose gorgeous homes make me feel like I am in Upstate NY, which I am! So similar to the Victorians in my area. I live in an old Victorian myself and there is a lot of character inside. Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteI just came back to thank you so much for sharing this at my We Call It Olde Link-Up. I again enjoyed all the lovely photos! Another party starts on Tuesday, hope to see you there again. Take care - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
